The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has unveiled the economic performance data of the communications industry for the first eight months of 2025. This data highlights the steady and robust advancement in 5G network construction. As of the conclusion of August, the cumulative number of 5G base stations soared to 4.646 million, reflecting a substantial rise of 395,000 from the tally at the end of the preceding year. These 5G base stations now constitute 36.3% of the entire mobile base station infrastructure, with this proportion witnessing a 0.3 percentage point uptick when juxtaposed with the first seven months of the year.
