VodafoneThree has made its selection, opting for Ericsson and Nokia to undertake a contract valued at £2 billion (roughly equivalent to $2.69 billion). Under this agreement, the two tech giants will be responsible for supplying network technology throughout the United Kingdom. Ericsson is set to take on the task of upgrading the current 4G and 5G infrastructure within the UK. Additionally, it will roll out networks at more than 10,000 sites. On the other hand, Nokia will focus on providing network technology for around 7,000 sites. This strategic partnership is poised to significantly enhance the UK's telecommunications landscape.
