On September 14, foreign media outlet CNBC reported that Microsoft's CEO, Satya Nadella, emphasized during an internal employee meeting that, following several rounds of layoffs and the implementation of a mandatory return-to-office policy for certain staff members, the company must make concerted efforts to mend its relationship with its workforce. During the session, some employees highlighted a perceived lack of empathy within the corporate culture and sought clarification on strategies to restore trust. In response, Nadella expressed gratitude for the employees' candid feedback and assured them that Microsoft would strive for improvement. Notably, Microsoft had previously laid off 9,000 employees in July and mandated that, starting from February of the following year, employees based near the Redmond headquarters would be required to work in the office for three days each week, a policy slated for gradual expansion thereafter.
