At the 2025 China Computing Power Conference, Academician Zhang Hongke from the Chinese Academy of Engineering highlighted that the Smart Computing and Network Integration initiative stands as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's pioneering major fundamental research project in the realm of networking, representing a novel form of the internet. He underscored that amidst the advancement of wireless access technologies, including 5G and 4G, current network communication systems are struggling to fulfill the stringent demands for real-time performance, reliability, and security across various sectors. Consequently, there is a pressing need to develop innovative network communication technologies that align with national strategies and global development trends.
