CoreWeave is entering India with a planned 240 MW AI cloud deployment at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai, with NVIDIA Vera Rubin infrastructure and an expansion opportunity that could bring the footprint to 480 MW.

CoreWeave is entering India with plans for a 240 MW AI cloud deployment at the AdaniConneX Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai, establishing its first infrastructure footprint in the country and extending its international expansion into another major Asia-Pacific market.

The deployment will span three 80 MW data center buildings, with CoreWeave serving as the sole tenant across the three facilities. The companies also envision an expansion option of up to another 240 MW at the campus, potentially bringing CoreWeave’s total footprint there to 480 MW.

CoreWeave plans to deploy NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform at the site to support large-scale AI training, inference, reasoning and agentic workloads. The first phase is expected to become available in mid-2028, with additional capacity coming online in phases.

The Taloja facilities are being designed specifically for high-density AI infrastructure. Direct liquid cooling will support the GPU data halls, while a non-evaporative chilled-water system is intended to address the substantial thermal requirements of next-generation rack-scale AI systems.

CoreWeave also plans to establish an office in India and hire locally, giving the company an operating presence to work with customers and partners in the country.

AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX. The company is developing large-scale data center infrastructure in India, combining Adani’s infrastructure and energy presence with EdgeConneX’s data center expertise.

The India project follows CoreWeave’s previously announced 360 MW expansion into Indonesia and further broadens its infrastructure footprint beyond North America and Europe. As of August 11, CoreWeave reported approximately 4.2 GW of contracted power globally.

Analysis

The India announcement is significant not simply because CoreWeave is adding another geographic market, but because of the scale at which it is entering. A planned 240 MW footprint is already comparable to a large AI campus rather than a conventional regional cloud deployment. If CoreWeave ultimately exercises the additional 240 MW expansion opportunity, Taloja could become a 480 MW AI infrastructure concentration.

The project also illustrates how CoreWeave’s international strategy is taking shape. Its 360 MW Indonesia deployment and the new 240 MW India commitment represent 600 MW of planned Asia-Pacific capacity before exercising the additional Taloja option. Both projects target 2028 capacity, suggesting that CoreWeave is reserving power and data center infrastructure years ahead of expected customer deployment.

Vera Rubin is an important part of that equation. CoreWeave is already operating the platform in 2026, but the Taloja facilities are being designed for a deployment beginning around mid-2028. That gives CoreWeave and AdaniConneX an infrastructure baseline built around the power density, liquid cooling and networking requirements of rack-scale AI systems rather than retrofitting conventional data center space later.

For India’s data center market, the project brings together a domestic infrastructure platform and a specialized AI cloud operator at unusually large scale. AdaniConneX provides the physical campus and infrastructure platform, while CoreWeave brings the accelerated computing environment and NVIDIA systems. The resulting model reflects a broader shift in AI infrastructure: power, cooling, data center construction, rack-scale compute and cloud services are increasingly being planned as one integrated system.
