The Financial Times reports that NVIDIA and AMD have concurred to allocate 15% of their revenue from chip sales in the Chinese market to the US government, in exchange for obtaining semiconductor export licenses. This financial commitment serves as a prerequisite for the two chip manufacturers to secure export licenses for the Chinese market, which were approved last week and pertain to NVIDIA's H20 chip and AMD's MI308 chip. The Trump administration has yet to determine the utilization of these funds. NVIDIA emphasized its adherence to the global market regulations established by the US government and expressed hope that export controls will uphold the US's market competitiveness.
