Selene Jin
Selene Jin's name is attached to some of the most powerful fintech and AI platforms of the past decade. She is both a UX designer and a systems architect for the future.
Her work has turned the intimidating force of Bitcoin into a tool for human empowerment. She is now using the same approach to revolutionize AI, with her newly founded company, Braindance Corporation (dba Cosma AI). Her career is defined by solving what she calls 'the last-mile problem' of innovation. This is the critical moment where advanced technology must finally meet the human being trying to use it.
"My mission is to make technology relatable to the human," she says. "We've spent too long learning the machine's language. It's time for the machine to learn ours."
Selene's story isn't the typical Silicon Valley script. She was once ranked #16 in the world in World of Warcraft's competitive arena. In these virtual worlds, she found something rare: a meritocracy that judged her by results, not identity.
However, she says that this changed the moment players discovered she was a woman. "The meritocracy shattered," she recalls. "It showed me just how quickly human bias could reassert itself, even in a supposedly neutral digital world. That was the moment I realized that if we're going to build liberating virtual spaces, we need to start by building better real-world tools."
That realization has guided her every step since. At Blockstream, one of the world's most advanced Bitcoin infrastructure companies, Jin was tasked with making the technologies accessible to all. Her impact was immediate and profound:
She led the redesign of the flagship Blockstream Green wallet, lifting its App Store rating from a struggling below 3.5 to a celebrated 4.5+. This transformation became a key proof point in securing the company's $210M Series B funding and $3.2 billion valuation.
She then spearheaded AQUA, a wallet designed to serve communities in hyperinflationary economies. The project proved so impactful that its core technology was adopted as the flagship product for JAN3, a newly formed company focused on financial inclusion.
Her design leadership even birthed a new creator economy with Raretoshi, the first platform to let artists issue and trade digital work directly on the Bitcoin network. Each of these ventures was a new frontier opened by a better user experience. She also consulted on mobile UX for the Tether (USDT) ecosystem, including work with Bitfinex to simplify its mobile app for mainstream users.
Jin then took her playbook to River, where her design of a security-first, institutional-grade brokerage experience catapulted the app into the U.S. App Store's Top 20, providing the critical early traction that helped pave the way for the company's $12M Series A.
Today, Selene is tackling what may be her most consequential challenge yet: freeing AI from the tyranny of the prompt. Through Cosma AI, Braindance Inc.'s flagship product, she's building a system that understands human intent without requiring users to speak 'machine,' while enabling effortless, no-code training for consistent creative outputs across images and video.
"Prompt engineering is a Band-Aid," she says. "It forces humans to learn how to talk to AI. We're flipping that. Cosma learns how to talk to us."
The company's approach is grounded in one principle. This is what a truly collaborative AI must feel like an extension of your own thought, not a tool you have to fight. The goal is co-creation, with reliability and intuitive UX at its core.
Selene believes intuitive AI UX offers the ultimate competitive advantage. "The most powerful model won't win," she says. "The one people can actually use will."
Selene's insights have earned her invitations to serve as an expert judge at elite global events like the Advancing Bitcoin Conference in London and the Indonesia Bitcoin Hackathon.
An early member of the Bitcoin Design Community, she helped onboard designers and contributed to early design reviews that informed the community's open-source UX guidance. These contributions weren't abstract; they were the foundational tools that made decentralized finance usable for real people.
Her career has been a test of intellectual courage. At Blockstream, she had to convince world-class cryptographers that usability was a strategic advantage. With Cosma, she's now challenging an AI industry deeply invested in prompt-based systems to rethink their foundations.
Each time, she's won the argument not with words, but with results.

Perhaps Selene's most profound insight is that the best design isn't seen, it's felt. It operates at the level of emotion, intuition, and human drive.
"My best training came from games," she says. "Not because of the graphics, but because they taught me to design for invisible motivation. You don't build a world by clicking buttons. You build it by understanding what makes someone care enough to click in the first place."
Her long-term goal is to architect the immersive, intelligent digital environments where we'll work, create, and connect in the future. In working towards this dream, she's spent years mastering the two essential building blocks: systems of trust (through Bitcoin) and systems of creation (through AI).
Now, with Cosma AI as her launchpad, she's laying the foundation for a future where human-machine interaction is seamless, inclusive, and empowering.
Selene is now channeling a decade of product and UX leadership into her new venture, Braindance Corporation (dba Cosma AI). This is a Delaware C-Corporation headquartered in San Francisco.
Braindance is built on a simple premise: the next wave of AI will be defined not by raw horsepower, but by intuitive user experience that moves beyond the prompt. Its flagship, Cosma Al, lets creators train their own models with no code, keeping consistent creative outputs like characters, assets, and visual styles consistent across images and video.
Braindance is focused near-term on B2B SaaS for gaming and creative teams and is conducting private beta evaluations with select studios. The company has opened a public waitlist ahead of its early access release. An advisory circle spanning AI and gaming supports the effort.
"Whether it's a game, team building, a universe, or someone crafting a personal keepsake, the goal is the same," she says. "We're removing the technical barrier so imagination can ship, with consistency and heart."
