Recently, a user on Reddit's pcmasterrace community disclosed an alarming incident where they purchased a brand-new MSI RTX 5090 graphics card from Amazon France's official store, only to discover upon arrival that the card had been severely tampered with. Notably absent was any tamper-evident seal on the screws on the graphics card's backplate, and there were visible signs of use on the PCIe gold fingers. Upon further inspection and disassembly, the user uncovered a shocking revelation: both the memory chips and the GPU chip had been removed, leaving behind only the bare printed circuit board (PCB). The magnitude of this bait-and-switch deception is exceedingly rare and deeply distressing.
