Taiwan's China-America Silicon Products, Inc. (CASPI) has announced that its subsidiary, GlobalWafers, received over $200 million in funding from the United States' CHIPS and Science Act in June. This sum constitutes roughly half of the total funding GlobalWafers received throughout the previous year. The injected capital will bolster GlobalWafers' initiatives in Texas and Missouri, aimed at substantially boosting silicon wafer production capacity within the United States. Notably, GlobalWafers has already benefited from a previous $406 million funding announcement by the Biden administration.
