Dell has issued a security alert, warning that millions of its computers are at risk due to vulnerabilities in the Broadcom BCM5820X chip integrated within them. This chip is prevalent in Dell's Precision and Latitude series laptops, which are heavily used in business environments and to a lesser extent, in personal settings. The alert highlights five critical vulnerabilities, all tied to the ControlVault3 feature of the chip, responsible for storing sensitive data. These flaws could be exploited by malicious actors, resulting in severe outcomes such as data breaches and remote code execution.
