During a congressional committee hearing on Wednesday, South Korea's Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol disclosed that the United States has pledged to accord South Korea preferential treatment on tariffs for semiconductors and pharmaceuticals, ensuring it will not face harsher conditions than other nations. Minister Koo stated, "The United States has guaranteed South Korea top-tier treatment in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. While we are not entirely content, it is crucial that South Korea will not be disadvantaged vis-à-vis other countries."
