Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has accused a former employee of stealing classified information related to the advanced 2nm chip manufacturing process technology, specifically pertaining to the A20 chip intended for the iPhone 18 series. A former engineer, surnamed Chen, allegedly conspired with several active R&D personnel to photograph technical drawings using their mobile phones in order to disclose confidential data. Notably, two individuals disclosed over 700 and nearly 300 pieces of sensitive information, respectively, while other engineers contributed a smaller amount of non-core information. Currently, all individuals implicated in this case are under investigation.
