A research team led by Wang Hongbo at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has collaborated with Professor Unyong Jeong's team from Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea, along with Professors Zhang Shiwu and Feng Zhihua from USTC, to develop a groundbreaking new type of inductive bidirectional curvature flexible sensor. This advanced sensor leverages magnetic thin film through-crack technology, enabling it to accurately detect minute bending deformations as precise as 0.01°. Furthermore, it retains stable performance even in extreme conditions, such as withstanding being crushed by vehicles or enduring other forms of damage. This innovation offers a pioneering solution for precise sensing applications in robotics. The pertinent research findings have been published.
