In a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) issued by Intel, the company has revealed plans to terminate the employment of more than 5,000 workers across four states, with California and Oregon bearing the brunt of the layoffs. Notably, the WARN filing in California indicates that Intel has doubled its anticipated layoffs in Santa Clara and Folsom, amounting to a total of 1,935 employees. The layoff process in Folsom will commence on July 11, while that in Santa Clara will kick off on July 15. The scale of these reductions has understandably ignited widespread concern among stakeholders.
