A team of researchers, led by Professor Su-Il In from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), has unveiled a groundbreaking new nuclear battery known as the Perovskite Beta Voltaic Cell (PBC). This innovative battery is capable of powering small devices for decades without the need for recharging. The team achieved this remarkable feat by combining radioactive carbon-14 with perovskite materials, resulting in a hybrid battery that boasts enhanced energy conversion efficiency and superior long-term stability.
