The 2025 China Automotive Forum, held in Shanghai from July 10th to 12th under the theme "Enhancing Quality and Embracing the Future with Intelligence," featured insights from Wang Jianxin, Vice Chairman of the China Battery Industry Association. Wang emphasized that the battery industry is embroiled in fierce competition, with some enterprises failing to prioritize research and development (R&D) and product quality. This oversight has led to an excess of low-end capacity, eroding profits and wasting resources, ultimately undermining China's international competitiveness. Furthermore, battery safety incidents have become alarmingly frequent, prompting the industry to adopt a safety-first approach. Recent recalls of power banks and overseas energy storage accidents have highlighted issues such as battery aging, inadequate management, and insufficient fire protection measures.
