Today marks the release of ZLUDA 5-preview.43, an ambitious open-source project dedicated to bringing CUDA functionality to non-NVIDIA GPUs. This initiative, with a particular focus on AMD Radeon GPUs leveraging ROCm, allows users to seamlessly run CUDA applications designed for NVIDIA hardware on AMD platforms without altering the source code. The project, driven by two dedicated full-time developers, already supports a range of applications, notably including Geekbench and Blender. By leveraging ROCm and HIP runtime technology, ZLUDA dynamically translates CUDA code into executable form for AMD GPUs, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and delivering high-performance results.
