The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have collaboratively unveiled the "Action Plan for Metrology Supporting the Development of New Productivity in Industries (2025-2030)." This comprehensive plan targets pivotal sectors such as major projects, national defense, emerging industries, and public welfare. It specifically addresses the metrological and testing requirements of crucial materials, encompassing advanced steels, non-ferrous metals, inorganic non-metals, high-temperature alloys, high-performance ferromagnetic and fiber composites, rare earth functional materials, ultra-high purity rare metals, advanced semiconductors, and novel display materials.
To meet these needs, the plan outlines strategies to develop specialized metrology and testing equipment and methodologies. Additionally, it advocates for the establishment of public metrology service platforms and alliances, fostering seamless integration of metrology with product standards and testing technologies. The ultimate objective is to enhance the metrology, testing, and quality evaluation framework for new materials, strengthen the management and utilization of metrological data, thereby improving the quality consistency and service life of these materials. This, in turn, aims to reduce production costs and fortify the foundational capabilities of the burgeoning new material industry.
