In July 2025, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology within the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology initiated the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the development of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Beijing. The meeting underscored the pivotal role of the electronic information manufacturing industry as a strategic, foundational, and pioneering sector of the national economy, vital to industrial economic growth, national security, and China's modernization drive. The planning process will adhere to three core principles: enhancing political commitment to ensure the thorough implementation of guiding principles; clarifying core objectives, staying current, and fostering emerging productive forces; and maintaining a systematic approach, strengthening forward-looking predictions, fostering collaborative cooperation, and establishing a unified planning framework.
