On the 4th, a series of explosions rocked a lithium battery recycling facility located in the northeastern region of Madrid, the capital city of Spain. These explosions ignited a significant fire that, as of the 6th, remained unquelled. The blasts led to the dispersion of toxic smoke clouds, prompting alerts to approximately 60,000 local residents. These alerts urged individuals to remain indoors, keep windows and doors shut, and turn off air conditioning systems. Preliminary reports indicate that two individuals were injured in the fire, while the cause of the explosions is currently under investigation. Notably, Spain had witnessed two similar fire incidents in May prior to this latest occurrence.
