The Hang Seng Index commenced trading with a 0.7% decline, mirroring a 0.75% fall in the Hang Seng TECH Index.
The electrical equipment and media sectors shone brightly, with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) surging over 4%, and GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, Xinyi Solar Holdings Limited, and Tencent Music all recording gains exceeding 2%.
Conversely, the retail and non-ferrous metals sectors led the downward trend, with Alibaba Health plummeting over 4%, and Shandong Gold Mining Co., Ltd. and China Molybdenum Co., Ltd. both slipping more than 1%.
