Launched five years ago, the ZLUDA open-source project initially set out to bring CUDA functionality to Intel GPUs. Over the subsequent years, the project secured funding from AMD and pivoted to developing a ROCm-based CUDA implementation for Radeon GPUs. Despite briefly transitioning to open-source, the project encountered challenges before revitalizing and embarking on a fresh development trajectory last year.
