Samsung Electronics is contemplating the resumption of construction on its fifth factory (P5) in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. This expansive facility, spanning 650,000 square meters, is anticipated to involve an investment exceeding $22 billion. The P5 plant will be dedicated to the production of DRAM, NAND flash memory, and foundry products. The project was previously halted amidst deteriorating industry conditions and technological considerations. However, fueled by the burgeoning market demand for AI semiconductors, Samsung Electronics is now actively progressing with the construction efforts related to the P5 factory.
