The Raspberry Pi family has introduced the Raspberry Pi Radio Module 2, marking the debut of their first standalone WiFi and Bluetooth radio module. Leveraging the same Infineon CYW43439 chip solution as the Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico 2 W, this module boasts a sleek and compact design (16.5mm × 14.5mm) with edge pads, making soldering and assembly a breeze. Its integrated 2.4GHz antenna and low-pin-count SPI interface enable seamless plug-and-play wireless connectivity for RP2040 and RP2350 platform products. Furthermore, the module comes with comprehensive modular certification, streamlining the typically cumbersome and expensive radio certification process. Priced attractively at just $4, it represents a significant reduction in mass production costs.
