The United States Department of Justice has finalized a settlement agreement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), paving the way for HPE to acquire Juniper Networks for $14 billion. As part of the agreement, HPE is required to divest its Instant On wireless networking business and grant Juniper a license to utilize the Mist AI software source code. Prior to this settlement, the Department of Justice had initiated legal action to halt the deal, citing concerns over potential market competition restrictions. HPE emphasized that the acquisition will deliver customers with advanced network architecture solutions specifically designed to support AI workloads. This settlement effectively removes the final hurdle towards the completion of the transaction.
