The Administrative Regulatory Authority for Strategic and Mineral Resources (ARECOMS) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has declared an extension of the cobalt export ban for an additional three months, commencing from June 21, 2025. This measure, necessitated by excessive market inventories, encompasses cobalt sourced from all mining activities, whether industrial, semi-industrial, small-scale, or artisanal. Prior to this announcement, the authority had implemented a temporary halt on cobalt exports on February 22.
