The Institute of Plasma Physics at Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved significant milestones in the CRAFT Kuafu project. Their Lower Hybrid Current Drive System has triumphantly passed the rigorous tests and acceptance inspections conducted by an expert panel, marking the full localization of the entire system. This system serves as a pivotal component within the CRAFT project, tasked with driving and maintaining plasma current in the tokamak device, while also boasting electron heating capabilities. The project team has adeptly surmounted numerous key technical hurdles, met all system assessment criteria, and independently developed localized core components. These achievements have firmly established the groundwork for the design of wave heating systems in future fusion reactors.
