On June 9, CNBC reported that the United Kingdom's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and American chipmaker giant NVIDIA announced a partnership to establish a regulatory sandbox environment. This initiative aims to assist banks in safely testing artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Commencing in October, UK financial institutions will be able to leverage NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform and AI enterprise software products for their AI experiments. Dubbed "Supercharged Sandbox," this program is tailored to support financial institutions that are in the exploratory and experimental phases of AI adoption. The FCA emphasized that for more advanced AI applications, it offers live testing services. Jessica Rusu, Chief Data Officer at the FCA, remarked that this collaboration seeks to empower institutions with innovative AI ideas but limited implementation capabilities to harness AI technology, thereby fostering economic growth while safeguarding market and consumer rights.
