The Japanese NAND flash memory giant, Kioxia, has unveiled its medium- and long-term business strategy, setting an ambitious target to double its production capacity by fiscal year 2029 compared to 2024. This expansion will be achieved through the enhancement of production lines at its Yokkaichi and Kitakami plants in Japan. The rationale behind this growth is to keep pace with the soaring demand for NAND flash memory from AI data centers. Furthermore, Kioxia anticipates commencing production of the next-generation memory in the latter half of 2026.
