Recently, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a suspension of product and technology license sales from select American companies to China's Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC), particularly targeting technologies crucial for the C919 large aircraft program, with the aim of hindering China's development capabilities for this aircraft model. However, this measure failed to achieve its intended impact. While the C919 currently employs the LEAP-1C engine, a collaborative effort between GE Aviation and the Safran Group, China's Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) has been diligently developing its own CJ1000A engine, which is progressively maturing and poised to shoulder the significant responsibility. This underscores China's robust indigenous research and development capabilities in the realm of aero engines, as well as its strategic response to U.S. technology restrictions.
