While USB4 v2.0 has been announced for nearly three years, its implementation on AMD platforms remains on the horizon, with an anticipated wait of one to two years. This standard, which is compatible with the Thunderbolt 5 interface available on Intel platforms, represents a significant advancement. On Apple devices, it aligns with the new Thunderbolt interface. The Thunderbolt 5 interface, released by Intel, is fully compatible with the latest USB4 V2 specification. It doubles the core bandwidth to 80Gbps in both directions and, with bandwidth enhancement features, can achieve a peak bandwidth of up to 120Gbps.
