By 2024, China's expenditure on semiconductor equipment soared to an impressive $49.55 billion, comprising 42% of the global total. This figure represents a substantial year-on-year growth of 35%. Globally, total spending on semiconductor equipment amounted to $117.1 billion, with China, South Korea, and Taiwan collectively accounting for 74% of this sum. Meanwhile, spending in North America witnessed a rise to $13.7 billion, marking a 14% increase. According to SEMI, the demand for semiconductor equipment remains robust, with global spending projected to increase by 15% year-on-year in 2024.
