On May 25, Reuters reported that Lianhe Zaobao's website cited sources claiming that US chip giant NVIDIA intends to introduce an artificial intelligence chip utilizing the Blackwell architecture specifically tailored for the Chinese market. This AI processor is anticipated to have an estimated price range of $6,500 to $8,000, marking a considerable decrease from the previous H20 chip. Mass production is expected to commence in June. It is speculated that the reduced price may be indicative of the chip featuring lower specifications and a more streamlined manufacturing process. While NVIDIA had initially considered developing a downgraded version of the H20 for the Chinese market, CEO Jensen Huang stated that due to US export restrictions, the Hopper architecture employed in the H20 could not be modified.
