On May 22, the China Society of Automotive Engineers released the group standard titled "Methods for Determining All-Solid-State Batteries." This groundbreaking standard, for the first time, clearly defines all-solid-state batteries, addresses the longstanding issues of ambiguous industry definitions and the absence of standardized testing methods, and lays the foundation for technological advancements and industrial implementations. The new standard mandates that all-solid-state batteries must exclusively conduct ion transport through solid electrolytes, thereby distinguishing them from mixed solid-liquid electrolyte batteries. By unifying the benchmarks for corporate research and development, certification, and market application, this standard facilitates the optimization of material development and process design, reduces promotional costs, and guards against the market confusion caused by "pseudo-all-solid-state" products, ultimately safeguarding both consumers and industry integrity.
