Honeywell has announced its acquisition of Johnson Matthey's catalyst technology division for a sum of £1.8 billion, a transaction projected to yield Johnson Matthey a net gain of £1.6 billion. Post this divestiture, Johnson Matthey intends to redirect its business strategies towards Clean Air solutions and platinum-group metals. Despite a 9% decline in revenue year-over-year for the past fiscal year, Johnson Matthey's operating profit and profit before tax witnessed an uptick, reaching £538 million and £486 million, respectively.
