On May 21, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government General Office unveiled the "Shanghai Special Action Plan to Boost Consumption." The plan aims to bolster automobile sales by leveraging the national subsidy for scrapping old cars and replacing them with new ones, alongside a unique Shanghai subsidy for similar exchanges. Concurrently, it will enforce the national subsidy for trading in outdated home appliances for newer models and introduce new incentives for purchasing digital products like mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches (bracelets), thereby fostering eco-friendly consumption in appliances, furniture, and home décor.
