The monthly survey results released by Germany's Ifo Institute for Economic Research on April 29th revealed a marked rise in uncertainty among German firms concerning future business operations, particularly in the manufacturing, electronics, and automotive sectors. Experts highlighted the continuous pressure exerted by the United States through unilateral trade policies as a key external factor intensifying this uncertainty. Notably, the report indicated that in April 2025, 28.3% of the surveyed German companies found it challenging to foresee their business prospects, up from 24.8% in March and representing the highest level since November 2022, which is a direct reflection of the prevailing economic uncertainty in Germany.
