Microsoft has announced that the preview period for the hotpatching feature in Windows Server 2025 will conclude on June 30, 2025, after which it will transition into a paid subscription service effective July 1. This feature, which enables enterprises to apply security updates without the need for system restarts, is particularly appealing. The subscription fee is established at $1.5 per CPU core per month. To leverage this functionality, users must connect their servers to Azure Arc and subscribe through the Azure Arc portal. It is important to note that if administrators fail to cancel their subscription before the free trial period expires, the system will automatically shift to the paid mode.
