On April 27, during a series of thematic press conferences focused on "Thousands of Meteorological Phenomena in Sichuan Province and High-Quality County Economic Development," Yajiang County, located in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, announced that it holds proven lithium ore resources amounting to 220 million tons. Zhong Se, the County Mayor of Yajiang, emphasized that these lithium ore reserves constitute a vital part of the Jiajika rare metal ore field, with pegmatite-type lithium ore reserves ranking first globally. Furthermore, Yajiang County has also confirmed the existence of 3.06 million tons of lithium oxide resources.

In the pursuit of lithium ore resource development, Yajiang County has forged collaborations with three industry titans: Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), Tianqi Lithium, and Shengtun Mining. Notably, CATL and Shengtun have secured mining rights, while Tianqi Lithium's lithium mine project has fully resumed operations.
