Researchers from POSTECH and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) have unveiled an innovative composite anode material that incorporates tin nanoparticles within a robust carbon matrix. This groundbreaking development dramatically enhances the charging speed and cycle life of both lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries. Experimental results demonstrate that lithium-ion batteries utilizing this material can achieve rapid charging within just 20 minutes, boast a cycle life exceeding 1,500 cycles, and possess an energy density 1.5 times greater than that of conventional graphite anode batteries.
