Samsung Electronics has informed its customers of an upcoming shift in production, announcing that several 8GB and 16GB DDR4 SODIMM and UDIMM products fabricated using the 1y-nanometer process, along with 8Gb LPDDR4 products leveraging the 1z-nanometer process, will gradually phase out and enter the End of Life (EOL) stage in the near future. Notably, the final order deadline for DDR4 products is set for early June 2024, with the last shipment date scheduled for December 10, 2024. This strategic move underscores Samsung's commitment to accelerating its transition towards more advanced and profitable products such as DDR5 and LPDDR5.
