Sources close to Intel indicate that the tech giant is poised to announce a fresh wave of layoffs this week, with estimates suggesting that up to 20% of its global workforce could be impacted. This move, aimed at streamlining the company's structure and reducing bureaucracy, follows a previous round of approximately 15,000 job cuts announced in August 2023. By the close of 2024, Intel's total employee count has dwindled from 124,800 the previous year to 108,900. If the rumored 20% figure holds true, the scope of this latest round of layoffs could surpass 21,800 individuals.
