In response to the imposing tariffs in the US, Apple is stepping up its efforts to diversify its global production capabilities. The tech giant has initiated local production and sales of the new iPhone 16e in Brazil, alongside manufacturing operations in China and India. This strategic shift aims to cater to local market demands and leverage Brazil as a "tariff haven," thus avoiding high US tariffs. Additionally, Apple is in talks with Foxconn about expanding the production capacity of its Brazilian facility, with the objective of bolstering its export capabilities to the US.
