The General Offices of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Guangdong Provincial Government have unveiled the "2025 Action Plan for Constructing a Modern Industrial System in Guangdong Province," with a focus on bolstering the province's basic research capabilities. The plan emphasizes the rigorous implementation of the decade-long "Zhuoyue" initiative for basic and applied basic research, ensuring that more than one-third of the dedicated funds for provincial scientific and technological innovation strategies are channeled into basic research. Additionally, the plan aims to elevate the construction standards of Guangzhou Laboratory and Pengcheng Laboratory, while facilitating the transformation of achievements from both ongoing and completed major science and technology infrastructure projects. The plan also encourages the opening and sharing of facilities, such as the first phase of the China Spallation Neutron Source, to enterprises, and accelerates the development of advanced technologies, including attosecond lasers and Pengcheng Cloud Brain network intelligent facilities, to support industrial technological innovation. Furthermore, leveraging facilities like the China Spallation Neutron Source and the High Intensity Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility, the plan envisages the establishment of nuclear medical industry facilities.
