Samsung Electronics has announced a comprehensive increase in the supply of its enhanced High Bandwidth Memory 3 Enhanced (HBM3E) starting from the first quarter. This shift aligns closely with the export control measures imposed by the U.S. government on advanced semiconductors, steering customer demand towards the enhanced HBM3E. While this may temporarily moderate overall HBM demand in the near term, the demand for 12-layer HBM3E is anticipated to soar. In response to market demands, Samsung aims to double its annual HBM bit supply compared to the previous year.
