According to TechPowerUp's tests, the NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics card experiences a negligible gaming performance drop of approximately 1% when paired with a PCIe 4.0x16 interface. This finding is reassuring for users on Gen 4 x16 platforms, suggesting that deploying the RTX 5090 in systems that do not support PCIe 5.0 will have virtually no effect on performance. More precisely, the performance loss at 1080P, 2K, and 4K resolutions amounts to 1.07%, 1.29%, and 0.74%, respectively.
