The 9th Asian Winter Games are set to take place in Harbin from February 7 to 14, 2025. To guarantee seamless communication during the event, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has authorized basic telecom enterprises to utilize the 26GHz band 5G millimeter-wave frequency for a trial run during the Asian Winter Games. This frequency will be employed for technological validations such as 8K broadcasting, integrated communication, and sensing. The 26GHz band, belonging to the 5G millimeter-wave spectrum, boasts substantial bandwidth and high data transmission rates. This pilot program will offer invaluable insights into the application of 5G technology in large-scale sporting events.
