Guangzhou has pioneered the world's first set of ±800kV Ultra-High Voltage (UHV) Direct Current (DC) Quantum Current Sensors, which have successfully undergone technical appraisal and attained international advanced standards. These sensors boast remarkable capabilities, accurately detecting milliampere-level weak currents, measuring short-circuit currents as high as ten kiloamperes, and providing real-time monitoring of DC transmission line status. Collaboratively developed by China Southern Power Grid and other entities, they harness the quantum properties of diamonds to facilitate non-contact measurement, characterized by unparalleled precision, a broad measurement range, and exceptional stability.
China Southern Power Grid envisages deploying these sensors in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with ambitions to extend their application into new energy, industrial, and transportation sectors in the future. This milestone signifies a groundbreaking advancement in China's quantum precision measurement landscape.
