During the earnings call, TSMC Chairman Wei Zhejia unveiled that the burgeoning demand for artificial intelligence (AI) will serve as the cornerstone for the company's revenue expansion in the forthcoming years. Amidst an overall foundry industry growth that fell short of projections in 2024, achieving merely 6%, TSMC has defied the norm with an impressive growth rate of 30%. Notably, AI accelerator revenue accounted for 15%-17% of TSMC's total revenue, marking a threefold increase from the previous year. Projections indicate that the semiconductor industry will witness a growth of around 10% in 2025, whereas TSMC anticipates an even more robust growth of up to 25%. Looking ahead, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of AI accelerator revenue is expected to skyrocket to 45% over the next five years, with the company's overall revenue CAGR anticipated to hover at a robust 20%. To cater to the escalating demand for AI, TSMC vows to relentlessly expand its advanced process, special process, and advanced packaging capabilities.
