On January 16, the China Semiconductor Industry Association issued a statement addressing recent unfair competition faced by the domestic mature process chip industry from imported American products. Consequently, the industry has submitted an application to the Ministry of Commerce for anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations. According to reports, the Biden administration in the United States has granted substantial subsidies to its domestic chip industry, leading to the export of chips to China at below-market prices, which has significantly harmed the legitimate rights and interests of relevant domestic industries in China.

The association underscores that the steady growth of the semiconductor industry necessitates a fair market environment for competition. It firmly supports domestic and foreign semiconductor enterprises operating in China in actively safeguarding their rights and interests in accordance with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. Furthermore, the association encourages enterprises to collaborate in promoting high-quality development of the semiconductor industry through technological innovation, intra-industry cooperation, and international partnerships. The goal is to establish an open, fair, and orderly market environment, thereby contributing to the prosperity and advancement of the global semiconductor industry.
